RIP Mannhec Depreshunz
Mannhec, my dad and best friend, passed away at 3am Eastern on Tuesday, February 18 2025. Some of you may know him as Dave. He loved EQ, the guild, and especially tradeskills.
This all sounds so impersonal now that I'm typing it up. Maybe folks can share their favorite Mann memories :)
-
I'm sorry for your loss Andien. The pain is monumental now but over time it dulls and the happy memories take over entirely and I'm sure you've got a lot of them.
My favorite Mann memories are always him trying his best not to swear at something ridiculous with Hunter, whether it's the 40 named in Scarlet Desert or the terrible timers of Dragon Necropolis. But in the rare times I do work on my Artisan's Prize, he sent me every fish I needed to finish Fishing to 250 with me simply asking in guild chat if anyone had any of them, I barely expected to get 1, let alone the full list of 25 or 30 I needed.

Oh no, I am so sorry. We will miss him!
I have a lot of memories of him.
I was so jealous when he talked about that freeze dryer! And all of his other cool toys.
I knew he loved you, Andien, and was so, so proud of you. He thought you hung the moon.

I did not know him well, but I understand loss. I am so sorry for your loss and hope and pray you can get through it.
-
I'm so sorry to hear that Andien, my condolences to you and your family. The thing I remember most is that he was always willing to help anyone in need, particularly when it came to tradeskills.
-
I'm so sorry for your loss Andien. I will pray for you and your family, and I hope that in time it gets easier.
-
Really sorry to hear that. Mannhec was a good guy to know, and always offering to help.
-
I am so sad of this news & pray for you & your family. Many years ago, I had returned to EQ after taking a few years off & was looking to join a raiding guild. I didn't know anyone in Valorgaurd but put in an application anyways. It was Manmhec that stepped up to sponsor me in & I could never thank him enough. I relied on him allot back then to get Flifo where he needed to be. He was always willing to help others & just a kind soul. I also enjoyed his passion for cooking delicious meals & sharing those stories in GU which many included times with his family.
May God rest his soul. <salute>

Andien,
Jeff and I are so sorry to hear this. Know that you are in our prayers and thoughts. We've known you guys for a long time and there wasn't anything that Mannhec didn't have in a bag stored in his bank somewhere. He was never one to jump into the limelight but always offered to help anytime someone needed it.
-
I am so sorry Andien. Mannhec was witty, funny, sometimes grumpy, but always loved to talk about you. You could feel how proud he was of you, even with typing in tells. He told me stories of you being little and how much he loved you. I enjoyed chatting, raiding or bantering in guild chat, he will be missed. /hugs I wish I had something more comforting, but life just sucks sometimes, Kim (ake Kimer)

So sorry to hear the news Andien, Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
My memory of Mann was always being at a named camp or doing tradeskills. There seemed to be no in between.
-
So sorry to hear of your loss, Andien. From all my interactions with Mannhec, he was a fun loving guy, who was always looking to help others.
My deepest condolences to you and your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss Andien. Your dad and I talked many times about many things, but it always seemed change to talking about BBQ, and sharing BBQ recipes. :-)

So...many...memories...
He had a signature laugh and the sense of humor to go with it. Getting to meet him in real life was a joy. He was the kindest man that I have ever met. Helping people in game and out. He has a straight shot to whatever is the best afterlife, but...My heart is breaking for you...

Sorry for the loss, I really liked Mannhec.

I was shocked when I heard of Mannhec's passing. I had the pleasure of being in Valorguard with him and meeting him in 2009 at Fanfaire. When I joined PA I was excited to see him here also. I will miss him. Pray God comforts you and your family. I have the table centerpiece from fanfaire, which I got everyone to sign including Mannhec. I will treasure that memento even more now.
-
Mannhec was always a bright spot when I was logged in at odd hours while working night shift. He was quick with a story about Norrath, or the guild, or Andien, and always willing to share advice and assistance.
-
Thank you everyone for the love and sharing of memories.

Your dad was one of the most giving people that I have come across in this game. He will be missed. He was very proud of you Andien. My prayers for you and your family.
