Hugs RC! One never knows why we might face the trials we do. Very different reason but similar ending - many years ago my cousin was driving and someone (a drunk driver) crossed from the other side of the road and hit him head on. The steering wheel broke in his chest ... and the ONLY reason he didn't die was he was overweight, enough so that the extra fat padding stopped those broken steering wheel pieces from piercing his heart.

Once you have something tragic happen to you, you definitely look at life in a very different way. You may or may never get a peek behind the curtain of the 'grand scheme/design', but trust that there is one.
